Sub 4% Interest Rates Available In Kansas City LOWEST RATES EVER RECORDED SINCE FREDDIE MAC STARTED TRACKING IN 1971 The First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit of 2009 was estimated to increase home sales as much as 15% overall. The extension of the FTH Buyer Tax Credit and additional $6500 tax credit to sellers, had an early impact on sales in 2010 but appear to be slowing the second half of the year. If you were to compare the amount of interest for a 200,000 loan a little over a year ago vs. today, you would save almost $45,000 in interest. A $37,000 savings over the $8,000 tax credit, if you qualified for it. Did You Know! For every 1% increase in mortgage interest rates, for the same payment, you lose 10% in purchasing power. That means that $350,000 home you could afford at 4.25% becomes a $315,000 home at 5.25% when rates go up. Question of the day, what rate would it take to get you off the fence to buy a home? |

Access to Kansas Hunting Lands Kansas is about 80,000 square miles and nearly 97% of that land is privately owned. That makes finding places to hunt in Kansas somewhat difficult at times unless you own your own private hunting lands. However, there is a Kansas program that helps Kansas landowners offer their land for public hunting and recreation. The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) has a program called the Walk-In Hunting Access (WIHA) program that has about 2,220 agreements to provide almost one million acres of hunting land access statewide. The access time is usually September to November or January. Hunters can access the map atlas showing land available for hunting opportunities online. Hunting licenses must be obtained and foot traffic only is allowed for access onto the privately owned land. |
